March Library Training

In March, some of our teachers had the opportunity to participate in a 2-day training sponsored by Schools for Salone, The Learning Foundation Sierra Leone, and the Reading Initiative Salone. The training was facilitated by professors of Library Studies at the University of Sierra Leone.

Upon successful completion of the training, each teacher received a certificate, a library starter pack including ledgers, index cards for cataloguing, and a library manual on how to set up a small library in Africa. We are so excited about the increased access to books for students in these schools. We hope all the teachers left with a greater understanding of how to effectively set up and manage their school libraries.

Now all that remains is to add more books for children to read!
