Gbama School Construction

Gbama is a small village outside Bo. The school in this village literally blew away, leaving behind a cement slab. The village was brought to our attention by a former Peace Corps Volunteer couple who lived in the small village of Gbama 50 years ago. They have stayed in contact with people in Gbama all these years. Some time ago heavy rains and wind destroyed the school, leaving behind a cement foundation. Recently the village asked the couple if they would help them rebuild the school.

Thanks to these former Peace Corps Volunteers and another generous donor, we have the funds to construct a new, strong structure on the existing cement slab – and plant trees to serve as wind breaks during the heavy rainy season storms.

Stay tuned for construction updates!
